I have a full seafood sampler platter of information for you today so I hope you're prepared to read. If you're not, I suggest you try it another time. Basically I'll start of by saying that Friday after my Art class I went back to my place, packed my stuff, and headed over to my brother's place in Abingdon. For those of you that didn't remember, we had planned on going down to Gatlinburg, TN for a little mini-vacation weekend. We had already reserved a hotel room and everything, and so we were on our way.
The trip didn't seem bad at all really, it actually went by really quick. The only thing that sucked is that we found out they were having a huge car show in Gatlinburg that very weekend, and so it was packed bumper to bumper the whole time down there. Eventually we did get to our hotel which was the Comfort Inn right in the middle of town. After we checked into our rooms we went and played some mini golf at a course called Old Macdonalds. Played two courses which was the chicken and pig course haha I wonder how the cow course would've been? Ah, the one that got away I guess. The course was a lot of fun although I didn't win that one. After that we decided to park back at the hotel and walk downtown to a restaurant. It was honestly two crowded to actually drive. We walked about a mile and a half down the sidewalk and finally decided to eat at a Ruby Tuesday. Well, a hilarious thing happened there. We got a waitor that looked exactly like Judd Nelson from the Breakfast Club and I have to tell you, this guy was hilarious. What was funny is that the restaurant was very crowded, and he actually forgot about us once. When he came back and saw us he freaked out and went "WOAH, THERE GOES MY TIP! AHHHHHH GET A FREE SALAD QUICK, HURRY!" LOL then he sat down beside of us and took our orders with all four of us laughing. That included my brother, sister-in-law, and Judd Nelson. Anyhow, the guy was very nice to us after that. He must've of gave us 80 refills of sweet tea and he supplied me with plenty of honey mustard for the chicken. The guy was awesome he made me laugh so much. We actually did give the guy a good tip. Probably almost $10. That's how much we liked him. This one time he surprised us. We were sitting there eating and he popped over this shelf with his eyes wide and said "Would you like some more sweet teeeeeeeeeaaaaaa?" He looked like Jim Carrey when he did it. Anyhow, after that hilarious meal, we walked all the way back to the hotel and chilled around in the pool and hot tub downstairs and then we called it a night. We had Dollywood coming up the next day.
Dollywood was honestly kind of a disappointment in many ways. First of all, because of the car show it was of course packed like a can of sardines. They were having a special Bluegrass day so every redneck in town was there. haha I did get to ride the new timber towers ride and it was alright. We rode a few other rides and then we stood in line for three damn hours to see Ricky Skaggs haha of course I really enjoyed that, standing in line to see a guy I didn't know. The wait seemed endless but when we finally got in the show was alright. I think I was just relieved to finally get to sit down. The show was all Bluegrass. I thought that Ricky Skaggs was country? Anyhow, we got some BBQ after the show and it was alright. I've honestly had better ribs. We left not too much longer after that. The only soveneir I bought was a hot dog hat. Yep, you guessed it, another cool prop for The Random Show. I'm going to create a hot dog vendor called Hot Dog Henry. We should have fun with that.
That night we parked in downtown Gatlinburg and walked the streets. We rode a Jurassic Dinosaur ride which was pretty decent and then played a Treasure Chest mini-golf course. After that we got some snacks. My brother and sister-in-law got ice cream and I got a slush puppy and some nachos and cheese. We went on back to the Comfort Inn and zonked out shortly after. We were pooped. I'd say we walked a good 40 miles that day. Thanks to the 8 million car show fanatics I actually got some exercise. I still can't see what's so damn fascinating with watching cars all day long.
Everything else was kind of a blur, but I remember that we visited this awesome place called WonderWorks on our way home. It lookes like an upside down version of the White House and it's somewhere in the Gatlinburg area. It was soooo cool. You pay one price and you get to do all of these awesome things. The first part was a place with brain puzzles and optical illusions, rock climbing, and even a two seated rollercoaster thing. They'd strap you in it and you peddled like it was a bicycle and the harder you peddled the more it swung back and forth. I made mine go in about 6 loops haha it was like the bullet at the fair. They also had a baseball thing where you saw a real baseball batter, catcher, and umpire at the home plate on a screen and you pitched the ball in the strike zone. Oh yes, and I must add that I could be a millionaire. There was a thing with 10,000 very tiny pink beads in it, and it said that if you could find the one purple bead in it then you were very lucky. I found the purple bead! I don't know how but I found it! I could be rick one of these here days. Past this stuff was awesome art on the second floor. 2-D images, coat hanger shapes that made shadows of the mona lisa, and also images of Britney Spears and Avril Lavigne made out of chewing gum. There was just too much awesome crap to mention. The last part was a huge arcade and laser tag area which we didn't even have enough time to play. I recommend that everybody try out this WonderWorks place. It was probably my favorite part of the trip. Very sweet.
Once we excited the WonderWorks Funhouse we went on back to my brother's place in Abingdon and crashed. The next day we chilled around and watched TV and then went down to Bristol. We ate some Mexican food and then went by Walmart for awhile. I bought the box set of Saved By the Bell that had seasons 1 & 2 on it. I already had the one with 3 & 4. After that we went by Tinseltown and watched "The Wicker Man." Honestly I didn't care for the movie very much at all but I still had a good time. Alright, I must tell you of this weird bathroom experience my brother and I had in the Mens restroom there. We went in to walk the lizard and we thought we were alone. We caught a whiff of a horrible stench and we kept talking about it out loud. Well, my brother kept saying that he kept hearing someone talking but I didn't hear anyone. Well, when we went up to wash our hands at the sink we heard mumbling noises. We started to get freaked out because we couldn't see anyone's feet under the bathroom stalls. Well, suddenly this one guy comes out of one of the stalls smoking a cigarrette with a smile on his face. Alright, we thought that was weird. THEN, about three seconds later, ANOTHER guy comes out of the SAME stall with a smile on his face..........my brother and I looked at each other in silence for about 20 seconds and then left. Very disturbing LOL
The vacation period finally came to a close. I went on back to Lebanon and unpacked everything. I then hit the hay and the alarm clock buzzing came fast. I'm now here in the computer lab in SVCC telling you about my mighty adventures. Maybe I'll have some more soon. I can't wait for Jackass 2 to come out Friday! A few buddies and I might go to see the midnight showing at the Cinemall! I saw a movie poster with Johnny Knoxville in a ball pit with a huge anaconda wrapped around him. haha so it should be fun.
Anyhow, I'm out. The Random Show with JoshRose episode 8 coming soon!
