SouthLab: added flavour to races.

Humans are balanced in every way. They have no particular advantages over other races, but they don't suffer any particular disadvantages either, so they may succeed in any class. They dominate student life and the culture of Ockham University.

Elves are tall, nimble and fey. They are, however, a little frail. They tend to be poorer in melee ( Read more... )

My mom just picked up a stomach bug. She was at the doctor's office a couple days ago, so we figure she picked it up there, since I've eaten the same things as her in the same time - and I've also given blood - but I haven't gotten sick.

And this is why we wash our hands.

But I figure my mom should at least be fine by tomorrow. She should've been fine even today but she categorically refused to eat anything yesterday.

Strange that your mom's still sick after all this time, though. It'd be pointless to speculate on it and I'm assuming she's been to the doctor a few times, so there's nothing really to say there that I'm sure you haven't heard a million times already. I guess in your case you just have to try to keep your own head together, since it wouldn't help her to have you lose your grip on her account. I'm sure you'll be fine, at least.

The football controversy (if it's that) is definitely amusing. Ockham University has teams in both sports (and probably other footballs as well), so there'll be some humour surrounding that.

I believe I have to go wash the dishes, since I haven't done them since last night and they're probably stacked up to the ceiling by now. I can't understand how I contribute the least to the mess even though I eat the most.

Never mind about the dishes. Apparently my mother already did them.

Next time I bust my finger I'll wear a bandage and gloves and do them first.

Aye. Patience never takes a break. I guess it can't by nature.

I was mostly kidding about all the footballs. There will be explicit mention of Canmerican football and of soccer, but not really in any game-impacting ways; there just happens to be, for example, some items like the football helmet, football armour and cleats where the descriptions will crack wise about the differences.

"A suit of the heavy armour worn by the University's football players (that is, the players of the football that requires armour rather than fake injuries). It's surprisingly unencumbering; the only thing that could stop you from moving freely while wearing this would be having the body of an offensive guard."

I'll probably add a few other varsity-themed items, aside from the bunch I have in the armour section now. For example, hockey sticks and baseball bats could slot into weapons. Those two would be more for flavour, though, since the Axes and Bludgeons category is already well represented. I might even change all the amulets into scarves, nodding to the British traditions. I guess striped scarves over there are like hoodies or pants with the name across the ass over here. (The hoodie/pant combo actually constitutes the "varsity clothes" item.) I think I'll at least put in a unique scarf item or two.
