These are the last few days.
Kuwait sized delay!
7:06pm Tuesday, Jun 12
We got held here for another day and a half because of a dust storm. I was pretty happy about that because it meant I got to see more of the city, take some pictures and hopefully relax for a bit after the crazy flights.
I don't really have time for a long post, but I will say this... I just went jet skiing on the Persian Gulf, how awesome is that!
I leave tonight for the base we will be taking off to Iraq from.

I haven't been able to sleep, I am not sure if it's the jet lag or the anxiety. We drove out of Kuwait city at around 11 PM last night and hit the base that I am staying at (Ali Al Salem) at around midnight. It's very intimidating when you pull up. I have never seen so many guns, it's impossible not to be intimidated at first ,but the troops here are some of the nicest people I have met.. I have been walking around and doing different things since I got here (its now 6 AM).
I have had some good chats with some Army guys. This one guy lives in Germany and told me that he had been out for 10 months of the 3 years he has left to serve. We chatted for a bit, mainly about what Canadians thought of the war, weather and he gave me some advice about Anaconda (the base I am going to end up living on). I mentioned to him that I had a 9 hour lay over in Amsterdam, he chuckled and said "Yeah, I will tell you what, I am on duty now.. but when I am not.. I know what's going on".
Our flight will probably leave tomorrow morning into Iraq. We are currently 23 miles from the boarder.
I like the people, they have this truth about them that shines though in conversation. I can see myself really enjoying this stay.

So I am staying here in a place called "Tent city"(It's not what you think, it's called tent city because of all the tents). I get put in a tent with a guy who says he is a movie director. He says he is shipping out soon to finish a movie he is working on about the war. Of course I am all like "Yeah right *roll eyes*" in my head, but we chat for like half an hour and he turns out to be a pretty good guy. He talks about some of his experiences here, asks me what I am doing here and we just chatted about back home . He gives me his card (of course I IMDB'ed him
http://imdb.com/name/nm0389492/) and he turns out to be legit (he even did a movie with Billy Zane!).
We probably have another day here. It's a lot of killing time, everyone here seems to be in the same boat. I seriously just want to get to Balad so I can get settled and get to work.
I miss you guys already!
