Kuwaped

This city is like nothing I have ever seen before. I ended up getting out of the airport at around 12:30 AM (Kuwait time), after getting my visa. We drove to our hotel downtown, and looking around I had my first real culture shock of the trip. It was like driving down the street on another planet. It was dark out, so you couldn't see much of the buildings. All you could see was the poorly kept streets, neon signs of American chain food joints, the very well lit malls and what looked to be buildings that were attacked and never repaired.

When I got to the hotel I was taken back on how beautiful it was. The room I am staying in has a flat screen, huge bed, great view and a bathroom that I am still intimidated to use.

Tam then took me out for a drive at around 4 AM, we went to the gulf for the sunrise. It was seriously one of the most breath taking moments of my life. When the sun hit the city it was like it had taken a new life. All of the buildings were so rich and the architecture was like nothing I had ever seen. The contrast between these rich building and the poor city maintenance was still very apparent.

So it's 6:22 AM and we just got finished eating a friggen awesome breakfast buffet. I have to sleep now and wake up in a few hours for water skiing :/

Tonight we get ready to leave to Iraq! (This includes bunking with 12 other dudes in a tent for 2 days and making a tactical take off!).

I will try and update after I get there!
