It has been a while, so here goes.
First, I owe you some answers. I had listed ten literary people and asked you to tell me who their best friends are. Here are the answers:
1) Richard MacDuff - Yes, shame on you, imenno for not recognizing Dirk Gently's best friend and assistant!
2) Eto Demerzel - It was in this guise that R. Daneel Olivaw befriended Hari Seldon. Isaac Asimov, people. The Foundation series.
3) George Milton - Lennie Small looks after George in Of Mice And Men.
4) The Hon. Algernon Montgomery Lacey - The only one who I thought would get this is my brother, and he didn't try answering this at all. Algy is one of James "Biggles" Bigglesworth's best friends.
5) Baron du Vallon de Bracieux de Pierrefonds - imenno knew this straight off. This is the full title of Porthos, thus making his best friends Athos and Aramis.
6) Gabriel John Utterson - This one was a hard one, and I am not surprised that no one knew the name of the lawyer who is best friend to Dr. Jekyll.
7) Fflewddur Fflam - As filkertom knew, this is from Lloyd Alexander's Prydain series, and he is Taran's good friend.
8) "Ratso" Sloman - Since I have so many of Kinky Friedman's books, this one was an easy one for me to add to the list.
9) Fahr - Points to misterseth. Fahr and Tam are the true names of Skywise and Cutter in Elfquest.
10) Hobart Floyt - janetmiles got this one right. Hobart Floyt and Alacrity Fitzhugh are companions in a fun trilogy of books by Brian Daley.
Which brings us to tonight's question.
I am going to provide you with a list of ten characters, each of whom has been portrayed by more than one person in movies and/or tv. I will list two of the people who have played the character, and you must figure out who that character is. However, to make life a little more difficult (and as you all know, I enjoy doing this), I am not going to tell you the real names of the two actors. I will list other characters they have each played.
Sounds complicated enough?
I will give an example to make things a little clearer. If I were to give the pair Westley and Ray Kinsella, you would remember that Westley was played by Cary Elwes and that Ray was played by Kevin Costner. And as you well know, they have each played Robin Hood.
So now that you understand the game, let's begin.
