Let's skip definitions and go to examples, first because they more illustrate my point: Athens at the end of the Peloponnesian War. Carthage after the Second Punic War. Japan and Germany at the end of World War II. A victory that shatters a nation so completely, it must unconditionally surrender with no hope of resistance nor regaining its former power or prestige for generations.

Are the actions of Hezbollah, Iran, and/or Syria a threat to United States security? Are the actions of Israel? Explain to me the threat and how action should be implemented to eliminate that threat.

In order to eliminate a threat, one must understand the threat itself. What is the threat in this case? What is the nature of that threat? Then, how must we eliminate that threat? What are the various options to eliminate that threat? Are there various ways of eliminating that threat with one way preferable over another? That is what I am asking.
