... I know, I've been bad. Been cheating on LJ with MS. *sigh* I'll pay... I'm going back to LJ, will catch up with my friends the next few days/weeks.
What's been going on?
Dad
He underwent hip surgery in November 2004 and that was a failure (in retrospect). He could hardly walk for 1,5 year and has been in pain all that time. The hospital (or surgeon) didn't acknowledge their mistake and they didn't want to help him further, so my dad went for a second opinion to the UMC in Groningen. That is where he is right now. The orthopedist there immediately saw there was something off... and he offered to help my dad. He had surgery last Wednesday and it looks like it went really well. I went to the north and visited him on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and he seemed quite cheerful and the pain he had gotten used to was gone. There was only the normal surgery pain and muscle pain. It's looking really well. :) Only down thing is that in the previous surgery, a bacteria got in... and they are trying to kill the remains of that now with strong anti-biotics. I'm hopeful though... he's not sick or feverish... I think this time he will be fine. He's such an active person, always going to the gym when he was able to... a new world will open up to him again if he can walk without support and just do whatever he likes. He deserves it too.
Work
Still loving it. It's been 2,5 months now and I feel like I belong there. I'm there in the right place... on the right time, with the right people. It's fantastic and everyday I go to work all cheerfully. Never grumpy or thinking "ugh work" so I realise I'm very, very lucky in that and I work hard to keep them people satisfied there. :D Don't want to lose it. But had evaluation with my boss and he said they're all very happy with me and they really appreciate my work and skills.
And further... guess who's back in the dating game? Yep... this afternoon I'm going to see, let's call him D. He's 33 and lives in Utrecht and is a really great guy. (Very RAWR too!) We've been talking on the phone for hours and been texting each other for days. It's all so natural... no akwardness or anything. For now I'm just out for a really good time, to have fun... we'll see where it'll go. He's going to cook me dinner. He was born in Italy and apparently can cook a mean Italian meal. (He is convinced he's a better cook than I am! Confident bugger.) Probably watch some DVD and just hang out in his apartment. It'll be nice. :) Updates acoming!
Hope you're all having a great weekend!
PS: I know my LJ layout is quite messed up but I can't fix that right now. Need to prepare for this afternoon. ;) Will fix later.
