So, Posty Posty!
I haven't posted on here in a while, but I find myself with the urge.
Let's see. I got a used digital camera. I'm happy with it, although it's a bit whacky and tends to eat batteries. But it takes nice pictures, and that's the important part, right? Now I can send you guys pictures.

Also, more importantly, I'm playing music again.
I had a longish conversation with louisa about why I was trepidatious to go to the maine fiddle camp (her sweet's mill) with her, and I realized it was because I didn't play anything and felt like I wouldn't belong there. That got us to talking about WHY I don't play, and I realized after a while that I have rather bad musical self esteem and I had managed to build a crippling mental block against playing music. So I decided to get over it by taking music lessons. Then I decided that waiting to find lessons was an excuse to not start, so I picked up Emily's fiddle and started over, this time with Louisa teaching me. Last time I played, I said I wasn't very good because I didn't practice every day, and I didn't practice every day because I wasn't into music enough. The turning point in our conversation is when I realized that that was the worst excuse to not play music in the whole world and that if I was using that bad of an excuse I was obviously hiding something from myself. So now I practice every day, and so far it's been much, much, more fun than I'd every imagined it could be. It's amazing how fast you can get good if you practice EVERY DAY. Yeah, I'm still not super good, but I feel confident in what I DO know.

In other news I went to Louisa's family headquarters (grandma and grandpa's house in Canton) for thanksgiving. Much aunts, uncles, cousins, food, and fun. Went to the Higgin's armory museum on the way down.

On saturday I'm taking my second saturday in about a year off to go to the marlboro college fencing tournament. Ian and I are going to enter the doubles list together as "James MacPherson's Scottish Gypsy Pirates. It's going to be good.

That's it for now.

Oh, and I'm glad that I have fun work instead of boring stuff where I don't like people and have to be in an office or other unstimulating indoor atmosphere.
