What's up, my LJ peeps?
I've been incommunicado since last Monday when I developed stomach problems in the middle of a 5 mile hike in the back country of a Texas state park. It was awesome - I just wanted to lie down in the rocky ravine and wait for death's sweet embrace. Instead, JP had the rangers bring me water while I decided whether or not I was going to hurl or void my bowels uncontrollably (I did neither, THANK YOU JESUS).
Called in sick Tuesday, hating myself the whole while because technically, I'm still new and I just don't like to call in. But I knew that unless they planned on hooking up my computer in the bathroom stalls, work just was not gonna happen. I dragged myself into the office the rest of this week, but it was definitely under protest by my tummy.
And since the rest of my body was obviously feeling neglected, my period decided to start yesterday. I don't know if you have ever had simultaneous stomach/girly-part cramps and a vague unsettling feeling that you have to go number 1 and number 2 ALL THE TIME, but I do not recommend it. Ever.
In non-disgusting news, JP and I attacked several Blockbusters, buying up used Blu-rays for $4 each. Good times. I bought Red Cliff, parts 1 & 2, so I am really looking forward to finally watching that. I heart John Woo! We watched Scott Pilgrim tonight and I thought it was pretty funny and clever. They never went too far with teh emo and the ADD, chop-chop transitions kinda grew on me. I wouldn't mind checking out the comic...
Tomorrow I am going to visit my grandmother's grave with my mom and sister. So if the world ends, at least I'll be with family and I'll already be in a cemetery. I love it when a plan comes together...
Next week is San Francisco!!! I am so excited!!!
