I am such a nerd. JP and I were listening to this oldies/soft jazz radio station on the way home and I heard a song by
Eydie Gorme and Los Trio Panchos that my mother used to listen to ALL THE TIME. Well, when she was mad at my dad. Which, in my childhood, was ALL THE TIME. But somehow none of this has any negative connotations for me and it just made me so happy to hear the music I haven't listened to in forever. Must buy the CD (dammit, iTunes, why can you not have obscure Mexican music from the 1960s?!). Huh. It's very beautiful, full of longing and Spanish guitar. *sniffle*
In other news, at the Armadillo Christmas Bazaar in Austin, I saw some of this
sculptor's jewelry and thought it was divine. Expensive, but divine. I just love how it drapes. She also holds classes but why the Hell do I want to pay $200 to fuck up a perfectly nice piece of metal when I could just buy something she made? Hmmm, clearly my need to create is lacking...
