MASTERPOST Chapter 12: Sam gets a weird request from Gabriel
Sam was laying on the couch, watching tv while eating nachos. He was a little ticked off that when he had to go to the library and work on a group project all day, that Dean got to hang out with Cas. Stupid assigned groups. When suddenly, his cell rang. The tone was...Candy Man? Who the hell programmed his phone with Candy Man by Aqua to play?! He quickly answered the phone "...Hello?"
"Sam?! Sam is that you?! Look, you need to come over here NOW." Sam blinked, it was Gabriel! Wait...Cas was the one who put Gabriel's number in his phone, apparently, 'in case of emergency' and then he winked, that was weird. "Umm...Why? What's wrong?" Sam bit his lip, please oh please don't let Castiel have run away again. "I need you to come over and get Castiel out of the closet!!"
Gabriel didn't say much after, just insisting that Sam come over as soon as possible and then said his goodbyes. Sam rushed to the Novak Estate as fast as he could. (Not like he had the Impala handy, since Dean was at work) and was quickly let in by Gabriel. Gabriel took Sam's hand, which caused Sam's heart to skip a bit, and quickly brought him up the stairs and to the front Castiel's room "Castiel locked himself inside and won't come out! I tried everything! And he locked both sides! But I REALLY need to get going! I have to meet with my evaluators! I'm really sorry! And I can't think of anything else to do and I'm sure you'll be better to do this! I'm really sorry!" Sam nodded, shooing Gabriel out, assuring him that he would take care of it. Gabriel smiled, leaning in to kiss Sam's cheek, "Thank you so much, kiddo! Call if you need me!" and quickly ran out.
Sam then stood still, staring shocked at the exit as he touched his cheek. He blushed furiously for a moment and then shook his head. He was here for Castiel! He turned, walking up to the closet, crouching in front of the closet door. "Cas? Why are you in the closet?" Sam heard a loud sob and his heart wrenched. What the hell happened?! "I can never show my face again!"
Sam paused, that he wasn't expecting. "Uhh...Why?" Castiel let out another sob of anguish. "It's too embarassing! Lucifer...Lucifer saw it!" Sam frowned "Saw what?"
"...Nothing."
"Dude, c'mon, what could he have possibly seen?! Were you like...jerking of-"
"NO! Nothing like that!"
"Then it can't be that bad."
"I wish he had seen me jerking off." mumbled Castiel
Sam's eyes shot open. "Whoah! Dude! That's intense! C'mon! Just tell me!"
Castiel was quiet for a moment, probably thinking it over. "No! You'll make fun of me!"
"I won't! I promise!"
Castiel huffed, obviously annoyed "You can't say that without knowing what it is."
"Then tell me!"
There was a pause. Sam knew Castiel was probably about to tell him - but he was going to pick his words carefully.
"...It's a notebook."
Sam blinked, he didn't expect that. "...Ookay? And what's in this notebook?"
"Notes."
"What kind of notes?"
"...Observational notes."
"...And how is that embarrassing?"
"...about someone." Sam smiled, he had a pretty good idea now.
"Not me, right?"
"Not you."
"It's Dean, isn't it?"
There was a pause, then a sputter. Yahtzee!
"H-HOW DID YOU KNOW?!"
Sam sighed, confession time "Well...You're not exactly discreet about your big fat crush on Dean."
"...."
"Yeah, I noticed. But don't worry! He has no idea!"
Castiel let out a miserable groan. "I'm going to die!"
Sam shifted closer, leaning on the door. "I'm sure it's not that bad, Cas."
"Oh. I'm sure it is."
"C'mon Cas!" Sam now stood up, facing the door. "Just let me see it! If anything, I can add some intel you might not have on Dean!"
"..."
Sam smirked, he got him. "You know you want my intel."
"....Fine. You laugh I get to kill you. I have everything I need to do so in this closet."
And boy, Castiel wasn't kidding! Sam was beyond shocked that the closet was the size of a room. He spent a few minutes looking around before staring at a red and puffy eyed Castiel, sitting on an ottoman in the middle of the room, clutching a black leather bound notebook to his chest. He looked exhausted and worn out, Sam felt horrible. He pulled the other ottoman close to Castiel, pulling the guy into a tight hug, which Castiel leaned into, but didn't loosen his grip on the notebook, so didn't hug back. "Alright! Time to show me that thing!"
Oddly enough, looking through the book together actually seemed to have cheered up Castiel. Every so often, Sam would point out something, declaring that "Dean isn't that awesome!"
"Yes he is!" and then Castiel would turn bright red, hiding his face, utterly embarrassed while Sam would stare at him blankly, and then make a shit eating grin. Castiel would moan in despair, embarrassed, especially since he remained a bright red the entire time but was obviously relieved to finally be able to talk about his feeling about Dean to his best friend. Maybe some good did come of this.
