Pub Crawling

Mar 29, 2008 19:42

Balthier had had enough of ex-Dalmascan soldiers who really ought to be dead but were some how up and walking and having little lovers' tiffs all over the place. It was time for ale, wenches and cheesy biscuits- standard fare for any pirate. The only pub he knew of nearby was the ignominiously named Red LobsterHe was alone when he started to head ( Read more... )

Sae had wandered away from Axel after thanking for his information. After giving Minoru a hard thump on head she'd started to explore the area. Much to her dismay, she hadn't run into anyone else since parting with Axel and she was starting to wonder if he'd lied to her. At this point, she was tired, hungry, and would give her left arm for bath.

"I hope I run in to someone soon. I'm getting hungry." She whined to Minoru, who trotted along side her. He snorted in annoyance and decided to walk a little further a head so he wouldn't have to listen to her complain. Minoru liked her when she wasn't irritated and tired, but when she was he'd rather not have to deal with her.

As they turned a corner, Sae spotted someone walking just a head of her. Smiling, she picked up a squirming, throughly unhappy, coatimundi and start to run towards the man. "Hey! Do you know where we can get some food?" She yelled, hoping he'd heard her.

Both Balthier and Laverna turned to face the woman following them. "Food? I was just headed to the pub," he said helpfully.

Sae's eyes widened and she looked down at Minoru. Sure, pub food wasn't best food but she wasn't really in any position to complain. Minoru, however, was throughly unhappy with the idea. He'd rather go somewhere where drunks weren't around, not to mention he didn't trust Sae around alcohol. She didn't have the best tolerance for it and, knowing her, she'd go over board.

"Don't be such a sour-puss," Sae whispered, "I'm sure they have fruit or something for you eat. Plus, it's cheap."

"Fine, just don't go overboard Sae. Get something to eat and then lets look for someplace to stay." Minoru sighed. There was no way he was going to win this battle, and to be honest he was looking forward to having a far less irritated girl around anyway. Satisfied with his answer, Sae put him back down on the pavement and turned her attention back to the man.

"So, uh, is it all right if I tag along with you? I don't really know my way around here." She asked nervously; he was her only chance at getting something to eat after all.

"Of course, I'll lead the way," Balthier replied, aways glad to help a damse in distress.

Katsumoto had chosen to wear his own clothing in lieu of what Jordan could provide: dark-hued hakama and winter weight kimonos, tabi and waraji, with his daishō tucked through the obi and worn at his hip. His appearance and manner of attire wasn't so different from that of people from the East, so he had the benefit of looking like a foreigner rather than someone from an entirely different world ( ... )

"I met this guy when I got here," Tony replied hitching up the pants one of the porters had supplied him. They were both too short and too big in the waist and he'd rolled them up to his knees and settled for yanking them up every few steps.

"He told me there was a Red Lobster. The food probably won't be very good, but it'll be something to eat at any rate."

The constant fussing Tony had to do to keep his pants up earned him more than one amused look from Katsumoto, but he politely refrained from commenting. If he'd had anything on hand that could serve as a belt, he'd have offered it.

"And the college pays for this?" That was what the porter had led him to believe.

"They'd better, I don't exactly have any money." He'd rescued his wallet from his shorts, but all he had was $5, a few receipts and a credit card he carried for emergencies.
