Iranian Provocation in Strait of Hormuz

Iranian Revolutionary Guard boats threatened US warships in this vital shipping route, through which much of the world's oil passes, last weekend:

If Iran had neither warplanes nor warships, Iran could not make such threats. This is one of the many reasons we should de-fang Iran. We could easily smash their air and naval forces with minimal risk to the lives of our own men.

There is no good reason not to do this.

Every time we fail to respond to this sort of provocation, the Iranians only assume that we are weaker, and are more likely to attack the next time.
