Sometimes, I wish we'd amend the Monroe Doctrine and assume total hegemony of the Western Hemisphere. Or if Bush would finally send some assassins after Chavez ala Cold War.

On a related note, have you seen the recent Citgo commercials? I find them hilarious

I do not think Chavez is arming to fight us. I think he's arming to fight his neighbors and his own people.

If Chavez, anti-American and supportive of the Terrorists in the current world war, tries to fight "his neighbors," he will be fighting America. We have treaty commitments to his neighbors, and we don't like Chavez. The only way he could get away with such actions would be if we got an exceptionally dimwitted Democrat in the White House, and even then this would probably be an "Iranian Hostage Crisis" moment for said Democrat.

I do, sadly, see those ships being used against refugees trying to flee Venezuela, if Chavez succeeds in making himself dictator. Though his plans in that regard have recently suffered a major setback, in the form of that rejected referendum. Chavez may well be out of office soon.
