The Exceptional Mendacity of Barack Obama

From John Ellis, "The Lies of Obama," in FrontPage Magazine (http://frontpagemag.com/2010/01/21/lies-of-obama/):

When politicians are caught out in lies, their supporters often resort to the old cliché: all politicians lie. But that is itself a lie: most don’t. Even ( Read more... )

It makes me wish we had Clinton or Tricky Dicky back. They were famous for lying, but at least they knew what they were doing otherwise.

Their lies were also calculated. Obama seems to just spout whatever verbiage he thinks will get him a cheer at the moment, with no thought for how this might affect his policy or credibility.

And I noticed on that Frontpage link the picture of The Messiah with His head raised to gaze heavenward, with His campaign logo in the background JUST LIKE A FREAKING HALO.

And is it my imagination, or is He starting to resemble the founder of the Hare Krishnas?

My wishes are few right now. Just one really. I want to stop hurting. I really do, it hurts so bad, it never stops. There are things out there that would stop it, Obama's plans would give me those things. Is this a selfish wish? At what point does it become selfish? God won't answer my prayers, I've tried for years, intensely in the past few months. No answer, it's all a void, I feel nothing but pain and agony, everything hurts now. I can't even wear certain fabrics anymore, they cause splinters of pain to dance all over my body.

I just want to not hurt. I'm going crazy, there's nothing else in my mind but pain. It's slowly burning away everything I have, all rationality, all sanity, all logic. All there is is pain.

I just want to not hurt.

I don't want you to hurt either. I have at least one painful medical condition which I cannot currently treat due to money issues.

But Obamacare isn't going to improve matters. And Obama's lies aren't justified by his aim of passing Obamacare. In fact, his lies are likely to defeat health care reform in general, and make it politically radioactive for years to come.

I don't have anything right now, I go to the ER when I am unable to function. That's all I have. They've run out of tests and want me to go to specialists, who I cannot afford. I have nothing but pain left in my life.

Everything is burning away. I lose more of myself every moment. Only liquor and things like vicodin stop it. I can now see how people can get dependent on them all the more easily now.

(24) Obama claimed that Zelaya had been overthrown in an illegal coup, but Zelaya was actually overthrown by the order of the Honduran Supreme Court and Congress, acting in unison to protect the Honduran Constitution.

Despite all of the other heinous things he's said/done. This one really pissed me off. I remembered hearing about it, and how he justified Zelaya by saying "He was such a good leader for his nation, the rules shouldn't apply" [more or less]

Make ya wonder if he's going to pull the same B/S should he even win a 2nd term...

(*nods*)

This one bothered me deeply because it was a direct betrayal of a minor American ally trying to actually live up to the ideals of constitutional representative government, an event incredibly rare in Central America. And, instead of encouraging the Hondurans, we were a party to acts of war against them on the part of Brazil and Venezuela -- and worse, we carried out this betrayal against our own national interests. It was an entirely pointless act of cruelty to the weak.

I have to agree. This is one of the worst of his lies, if not the very worst, because it is a direct attack on the truth of the matter as well as on American honor. As for Obama pulling the same stunt as Zelaya, maybe -- but since the American military really doesn't like him, he'd have real trouble trying to enforce his will on the country in that case.

You've got a typo in #16, should be unemployment instead of employment.

Yes it's sobering to see just how many of his promises (a number of them major one) that he has gone back on or pretty much has no chance on being able to fulfill. He should have realized early on that some of what he wanted to accomplish would rely on major congressional support and while initially he had a fair amount of that it is shrinking rapidly. Brown's election and possibly now a number of moderate dems wanting to keep their seats may just keep him from accomplishing a lot more of what he wanted to get done. Obama may just be a lame duck before the end of his second term due to his broken promises (no one will trust/take him seriously) and also if the repubs win a lot of seats in the mid term elections.

LOL!!! Fixed it, thanks for pointing it out to me. That's one word in which two little letters make a big difference!

He should have realized early on that some of what he wanted to accomplish would rely on major congressional support and while initially he had a fair amount of that it is shrinking rapidly.

He seems to have assumed that he had won the office of Emperor of America, or perhaps even God-King of the Earth, rather than President of the United States of America. Like Clinton, he made the mistake of trying to focus on domestic rather than foreign achievements, when in fact a US President plays a secondary role to Congress in domestic matters. Unlike Clinton, he still hasn't realized his mistake in that matter.

Brown's election and possibly now a number of moderate dems wanting to keep their seats may just keep him from accomplishing a lot more of what he wanted to get done.Yes, even before the 2010 Congressional elections change the composition of ( ... )

(26) Obama claimed that terrorist radical Bill Ayers was "just another guy in his neighborhood," but the record shows that they were in fact close political allies and even personal friends.
Not to mention that it's been proven beyond reasonable doubt Obama had Bill ghostwrite "his" book for him...
