Jonny's adventures in Mitsuwa (later in the post)

Jul 10, 2005 02:36

I woke up around 9:45am today...or yesterday by the time of this post. Extremely early for me, but I awoke with little to no problems. I don't think I should have Sakuranbo as my alarm song. At first I though it would wake the hell out of me, but I find myself getting more annoyed than anything. I just end up turning it off and going back to sleep. I absolutely love the song though! But I guess I'm not in the mood for it in the morning. But I didn't go back to sleep. I was on a mission--a mission to spend more money and upgrade my iPod 20GB to 60GB. It's just practical now that I think about it. So I did that and headed off to Kinokuniya for some impulse shopping. I did have my heart set on getting Ai Otsuka's last single, SMILY/Biidama, but alas...they did not have it. Go fig! That and AI's new album, MIC-A-HOLIC A.I, but they did not have that either...CURSES! Curses, I say!! I did pick up a couple goodies though: Mika Nakashima's latest single, hitori, and BoA's 2005 Arena Tour DVD. I'm not sure if I like BoA with bangs yet...it just looks....weird. I found it funny that she asked the audience if it looked okay. Muwa ha ha!! I understood that part! But wow...she seemed more ditsy and peppy than I'm used to. Or maybe it was just me. After that, I was thinking about going to Electronic's Boutique to pick up a game. But after spending quite a bit of change at Kino...I decided against it.

I went back home after that. I played with the iPod a bit, got it charging and all the fun stuff, and ripped the last of my Ayumi Hamasaki collection. Kinda tired from lack of sleep, I pretty much crashed after that. Got in like an hour of sleep when my cat woke me up when he licked my nose. He's so cute sometimes! After finally getting out of bed, I started to rip more CDs. I'm gonna try to get them all done before I get to bed. Surprisingly enough...that should be quite feasible...I'm looking about maybe a couple more hours? And through this ordeal, I have learned that Sony's LabelGate CD2 copy protection technology has proved to be a worthy advisary for iTunes. So much that I wasn't able to rip some of their CDs...mostly L'arc~en~Ciel, Mika Nakashima, and Porno Graffitti so far. Luckily, I was able to rip them a while ago...so I'll just have to make tags for them. No prob~ That while be my task for tomorrow as well as getting album cover artwork and organizing file names and what not. If the name's too long, iTunes cuts the file name. I don't like that...wonder if there's a way to get the whole file name in there...

After a few hours of that, I headed back to Best Buy. The case/armband thing I got for my iPod was kinda small. At least it seemed kinda small since it's made for the 20GB iPod. So I went to their little iPod section...looked around at the cases, and discovered that they had none for the iPod 60GB. I then looked at the displays for the iPods...and also discovered that the 20GB and 60GB are identical in size...oops... Maybe it was the weight that threw me off. Either that or maybe the case just had to stretch out a bit. So el iPod is sitting in there right now...getting down with his bad self. After bolting out of there, It was time for some grub. I was feeling very Japanese at the moment. I didn't want to drive down to the other side of the city for sushi, so I headed over to the nearest Japanese market, Mitsuwa. I had a HUGE craving for some Takoyaki anyways.

This put my Japanese reading skills to the test. Nevermind the fact that they had tags and labels in English. I wanted to read Japanese damn it! So I'm wandering around the store looking for Takoyaki sauce, and out of frustration I call Amy for some much needed help. I had no idea what it was called...all I knew was that it was brown. Wandering up and down the Oriental sauce aisle...that doesn't help you out much. I don't even know how long I spent looking for it before I asked for help. So I find this cute Japanese guy and he shows me where the Takoyaki sauce is. I felt so stupid because it had a huge picture of takoyaki on the label...and it said takoyaki sauce. Duh....and I probably spent the most time in that aisle. But at least I know where it is now! So after that sub mission was completed, I picked up a few more things...4 boxes of various Pocky, rice crackers with seaweed, couple thingies of sushi, and some ramune. They come in peach and melon and strawberry! I did not know that! =o

So i went back home after that...cookied my frozen takoyaki (that were delicious), popped open a ramune, and thoroughly satisfied my craving. And after a shower, cleaning up, watching a DVD, and ripping more CDs...leaves us at now. And I'm still ripping CDs. Just to give you an idea...I'm doing them in alphabetical order and I'm on S right now. Not really much to go after that...Shiina Ringo (which I'm on right now), Shingo Mama, Tokyo Jihen, W, Utada Hikaru, Yaida Hitomi...and I think that's it. So yes...I'll end this now 'cause I want to finish this as soon as possible. I'm getting sleepy ; ;
