Coral Springs has been fun so far... been keeping my regular poker hours about half the nights and hanging out with high school friends the other half. Nothing too eventful, mostly a bit of poker together and several trips to Denny's. Probably will watch a lot of the college bowl games in big groups, possibly at sports bars to have lots of screaming people around (most of us are participating in Mike's pool, if you're interested you should IM me or Mike tonight... steep $5 entry).
When I read Blink about a month ago there was a section about the work of Paul Ekman on the connections between facial expression and emotion that was pretty interesting... I looked him up online and purchased an instructional CD. At first the information on the CD seemed pretty trivial but every now and then I focus on trying to actively look for people's microexpressions and I'm able to perceive a surprisingly increased amount of information from some individual's faces. At the Coconut Creek poker room on a couple trips with friends this week I'd look at faces for "microexpressions" in various circumstances and for a few people I was able to make surprisingly accurate reads... 3 of 4 times I made a pretty specific read well before the action completely supported it I turned out to be right (correctly put one guy on a flopped set and another on a nut straight after checked through flops, primarily through slight and very brief facial expressions, of course combined with the little bit of action I'd seen).
More interestingly I've picked up on this slightly away from the poker table as well, but not to the same extent since microexpressions typically only arise when people wish their emotions to remain hidden, and I haven't really studied the other half of the CD yet (on "subtle" expressions and opposed to microexpressions).
