Yay! It’s the start of M&M Week

I’m very lucky to have lots of talented, wisdomous, writerly friends. Many of these good people share common interests, but don’t know each other...yet. Not all of them are on Live Journal. Some have accounts (or in the case of LJ users, additional accounts) on Twitter, Facebook, Blogspot etc.

With that in mind, I thought it might be fun to host ( Read more... )

writing, networking, fiction

Ya know, Jon, I never thought I'd see the day when I read the word "teabag" and not think of having a cup of tea. ;-)

This is a great idea, and I hope it goes well for all involved!

It should be fun - I'm just hoping I don't run out of milk ;)

Never mind, I think milk is an insult to tea anyway ;-)

I love how you're working to get us all more and more together. Let me just join in here.

I'm Ellen Roepert, though my name is not shown anywhere on my LJ, so most people only know Nathreee. I'm 28 and I'm working on becoming a writer. I have a manuscript that I'm revising called Destiny and I'm tentatively sending out queries to see what agents think. I have never been published so this is all rather new to me.

On my LJ profile there's a few links to posts that are either about me or my writing, I invite anyone to have a look. I try to keep my tag cloud clean and logical, so it's easy to browse my LJ. I don't have a website of my own yet, that's going to be a nice project for later. Recently I became a member of the Online Writing Workshop and I'm grateful for the commentary of my writing that I get there. I'm also on Facebook if you're into that sort of thing ( ... )

Joseph Conrad was not a native English speaker.
Approaching English from an outside perspective
can make it a far more effective tool than it would be
to someone who has only known it from the inside.

Neat idea, John!

Patty Jansen. Australian, ex-OWW (four years), writer of SF and sometimes fantasy (the latter as aberration), involved with ASIM magazine (slush & editing), WOTF finalist (no, I still don't know the results yet - ack) and otherwise wannabe writer. Four novels in circulation and a whole heap of short stories, some published.

Excellent :)

Stand by for a bump in submissions, now Asimov is accepting e-subs.

I heard that. Was anounced overnight from where I'm standing on this ball of rock. Would you *believe* I sent them a submission yesterday? By mail. GRRRRR

It's a subjective thing, I know, but I actually prefer to send a paper submission than an email one, though I can imagine they take up more time for the poor soul at the other end.

Hey! I probably do live within cycling distance, since I live almost on the German border. Nice to meet you!

Hi Mark,

I remember you talking about that workshop. My Dutch is almost as bad as my English. What's koniginnendag? Is that King's day or something?
