What are you up to in February?
Aside from working on Dead Doris, I've got lots of exciting stuff happening this month:
February 5th: QUIZ NEWS
This coming Saturday is the closing date for those wishing to risk their sanity by braving the twisted logic and excruciating puns featured in THE 2nd CUNNING, CRYPTIC, CLUE, CONUNDRUM, THING. If you haven't yet taken a stab at it, be warned: The extra questions and the addition of some decoy answers have tripped up quite a few contestants so far.
February 12th: JACK KETCHUM at East Brunswick Library (NJ)
On Saturday, February 12th, the GSHW meeting at East Brunswick Library, NJ, features a talk on 'Creating believable characters' by author (and by all accounts, darn fine speaker), Jack Ketchum. It should be a lot of fun.
February 14th: PREPARE FOR A SPLASH
Later this month, all that snow we've been hit with will melt, and we all know what that means. That's right, Puddles! The 2011 season of The Meager Puddle of Limelight Awards kick-offs on Monday, February 14th, when the search begins for the winner of this year's award for Best Short Story Title.
February 15th: MANCHESTER LIBRARY (New Jersey)
On Tuesday, February 15th, I've been invited down to Manchester Library, NJ, to give an intimate talk to the good folks of the Manchester (NJ) Writer's Circle about marketing. It's an afternoon do (2:00 - 4:00pm), but if you'd like to come along, I'd love to see you there.
February 17th: MONMOUTH COUNTY LIBRARY (HQ), Manalapan (New Jersey)
On Thursday, Feb 17th, I'll be at MCL(HQ), Manalapan for the regular verbal critique group meeting of The Monmouth Creative Writers Group. 7:00 - 9:30pm - New members welcome.
February 25th: TREEHOUSE CAFÉ, Audobon (New Jersey)
On Friday, Feb 25th, I'll be giving my talk, Have Blog, Want Readers? at the TREEHOUSE CAFÉ in Audobon. Kick-off: 7:30pm.
February 26th: PALMER LIBRARY (PA)
On Saturday, February 26th, I'll be in Pennsylvania, to hear Blood-Red Pencil contributing editor (and my good friend), Kathryn Craft, give a presentation on final edits, followed by a workshop on book pitching at the regular GLVWG meeting at Palmer Library, PA.
