Akiyama Ryo
Im am currently having problems uploading images to my many many possts. The Digimon Tamers post still only has around 2/3 of the images finished, but they are of the highest quality. The important Digimon crests post has around 50% of all images posted now, and the Daisuke-Wallace post has no new pics currently at the moment.
Anyway, will upload more pics as i have the time. Now more about Aymyama Ryo.
Ryo is the main hero of the three main Digimon wonderswan games made exlusively by Bandai;

Ryo is the true heir to Taichi as "Brave tamer" He also saves the chosen children atleast ones after they were kidnapped by Milleniumon. He is also Kens true fusion partner, and also stars in Digimon Tamers as "Digimon king"
There apear to be 2 animated versions of Ryo based on the animated styles of Adventure and Tamers.
It would apear, that the first name "Ryo" does not exist in the Japanese language, but rather is a "westernized" English version of the word Ryou. In Japanese this literally means cool or refreshing

Thats quit a major difference from Daisuke, woulnd't you say? I guess besides the difference in names and animation styles, Ryous name actually decribes who and what kind of a person he is. With Daisuke...well, lets just say the name was meant for irony, as was the charecter it was describing;=))

Ryou is the original Daisuke, rather than the other way around! He would deserve the name and the tittle, because it is HE who actually HELPS the chosen children in there hour if need after they have been captured by Milleniumon! He is also Kens true and original fusion partner, and also stars in the Brave Tamer game, that takes place before the events in Digimon Tamers. Here is a pretty good website about him.

And Ryo is also V-mons ORIGINAL human partner, tough he is eventually replaced with Monodramon!
I believe, that Daisuke was created as Ryos replacement for the sole reason of having him star in Bandais ACE season;Digimon Tamers!

Ryo is therefor in many ways the REAL, original and geniune Daisuke! Far from the originals "poster boy" looks! As hes original name implies in Japanese, Ryou is both cool and modest about himself. We see none of the gay flirting and other macho stuff, as with Daisuke. Ryou is casual, and yet he is a true hero for saving the Digital world repeadetly from evil!
What makes Ryou special that hes is not a chosen child, and as such, he is not given any special chest, or even a Digimon partner to play with, before he meets Monodragon at a very late stage of hes adventures. Ryo gets no cool googles. No cool chests, no digimentals, symbols or symbiot. No Digimon partner, no nothing!
Indeed! Nothing is handet to Ryou on a shiny silver platter. Ryou gets none of this! No free trips to America to meet "Mr butter" or flirting around the beach in hes underwar. No special world tours or friends! No girlfriend(atleast to my knowledge possibly not assuming he and Rika one day hooked up) No special cool Digimon partner to play around with. No shiny digivice to...ok, i think you get the idea!
Indeed, Ryou gets none of this, and in one paticular part of hes adventures(according to the wonderswan canon)he finally "flips out" and loses it mentally, and that is understandle. Ryou is not treated as a special "chosen child" or a hero. He is cacual. Perhaps indeed a bit TOO CASUAL!
While Ryou does not get treated like anything special, he indeed does get 1 hell of an adventure experience! Something, that no other child in the entire Digimon universe gets to go through. Ryou is the poster boy for Bandais wonderswan games, that have since the very beggining played a rather important role at Digimons development. The first Digivices that were released along with the original Digimon anime had a function that allowed them to be connected to the original wonderswan gaming concole, so you you play the game literally with the Digimon you had raised!

The comparison to Daisuke and Takato is pretty harsh! I will later aftet this devote an entire new post to Daisuke, and make clear comparisons to him and Ryo. The point is;the difference is so HUGE, it's like these 2 charecters were coming from another country! The fact is;Daisuke was created as a simple filler charecter to fill Ryous boots while he was away!
In Digimon Tamers Takato to a surden extenct plays the same role. Ryoys entire reason of existance is ofrouse to advertise the Bandais wonderwan games, and not the Digivices themselves, tough the two are rather closely linked and connected.
Ryou indeed gets the biggest adventure of all, and i have playerd myself the PC emulated version of Digimon anoce/canode tamer. The game was very fun to play, tough challenging. It required a little bit cunnigness, but i very much liked that.

Indeed, Ryoy does get the biggest adventure of all, but hes is blown away literally into another universe, where he goes back to an alternative father and family, after being gone for a long, LONG time! We never see him and Ken unite(somewhat rational, considering that Ken is now Daisukes partner)
I may write more abour Ryo on this post, but it's finally time to move to the FINAL Daisuke post, and spill out the rest of the beans! And the fact is,it's not going to be pretty!
