So I had a busy weekend.
I went and visited with Betty on Friday.  We went to breakfast, then watched Jules swim in her pool while I lazed around, and then we went to see Capt. America Winter Soldier for the first time.  She was not impressed but I enjoyed it.
Sunday I went to the ALA which is the American Library Association convention.  It was awesome! I only went to the exhibits but there were tons.  Jules and I walked for 3 and a half hours.  I ended up with four tote bags full of books and swag. My shoulders are still sore from lugging them around.  I have 27 new books with over half of them signed by the author.  They are all advanced copies and unedited yet.  I have only heard of two of the authors who signed my books, Holly Black and Mary Monroe.  I missed seeing Maggie Stiefvator by one day and Judy Blume was going to be there but I really didn't want to stand in line for over an hour or however that very long line would've taken.  The only money I needed to spend was the entry fee, a desperately needed full water bottle, and a new coffee cup that I am now sipping tea out of that has words printed all over it like Read, Relax, inspire, stories, etc.
After the ALA I went to Dotty's 50th birthday party.  I saw relatives and friends that I hadn't seen for over a year.  It was fun visiting and playing on their foosball table.  I stayed later than expected I would, but only around 8 p.m.
I am worn out which is bad because at work they had to change my schedule around for the next two weeks. I work three days in a row instead of a break in-between and next week two days only but extended hours each day.  They have expanded the children's section and they are re-carpeting the entire library.  Which means that we have to take ALL the books off EVERY shelf and then re-shelve them after it's done.  Fortunately they have divided it up into four sections to work on at a time, but still *sigh*.  I still love my job anyway. :D
