If there's a pie on the mantel in the first act, then it should be thrown at someone by the third act. Similarly, if someone is hit by a pie in the third act, the pie should have been visible in the first act.

Last night while I was falling asleep, I was thinking that the position of a cautious investor was really a lot like that of a jellyfish in a centrifuge.
Not only am I unable to explain any way in which that makes sense, I can't even explain where the jellyfish or the centrifuge came from.

As I was falling asleep last night, it occurred to me that polynomials are isomorphic to articles of clothing.
In the morning, of course, this makes no sense whatsoever.
