For House fans

Mar 03, 2010 23:31

Some frustrated fans let loose on House writer Doris Egan on Twitter today, attacking her for her Hilson-friendly scripts (apparently nobody taught these fans that being RUDE is not the best way to make friends and influence writers). Fortunately, a bunch more fans chipped with with support (she thanked them - awww). The incident has triggered a ( Read more... )

Don't mean to sound glib, but broadly paraphrasing the old remark about publicity, Hollywood folk would probably prefer bad comments to no comments at all.

I seriously cringe when I hear about these 'hate tweets'. As much as I'm a tad bored of 'all Wilson, all the time' (I jest!) people need to accept that focus in a long-running show shifts from time to time. It just seems beyond rude to tell people who have GIVEN us this thing we love how to do it better or 'right'.

Don't they realise that none of us would be this invested if the show hadn't been made so well in the first place? Oy.

People are idiots (and idiots are good at dispersing themselves among various groups). The people that sent those tweets were, I'm fairly certain, from the group that want everything to cycle back to House/Cuddy, and every storyline Cuddy has to be about House, and anything short of that is the apocalypse. They're not so much fans of the SHOW, but rather fans of the ship first and foremost. They make me want to slam my head against the wall, no matter what they ship (and my favorite is when they say they fast-forward through non-Favorite Character scenes and then complain about how nothing makes sense ( ... )

I ♥ you. You're like an island of sanity in a sea of LOLWUT.

I'm being reminded of the SG-1 fandom's Class of 2003 (and 2001). The sooner some people realize TPTB don't owe us anything, the sooner these people will build a bridge and get over their petty little "disagreements."

Let them continue with their vociferous whining, though. I'm not worried at all.

Aww, thanks.

The similarities to ye olde SG-1 fandom continue to amaze me.

I wish the Huddy major fans (not the happy go lucky ones) would kindly leave the writers alone and be quiet. They're going to get Huddy eventually. *rolls eyes*

I don't mind fans venting if they're unhappy, but yeah. The ones (on either side) who just spew venom - especially where it will reflect badly on their fellow fans - just make me cringe. But my point point here was to reassure those who actually fear that this sort of horseplay will change the show. It won't. :-)
