Woke up to a FB e-mail announcing a new photo on Tiger's page. Always interested in what people I haven't seen for a while are looking like, I went to the page. It was one of a host of "mobile uploads" covering a museum visit in what looks to be Seattle. Wow. Frank Lee has been attending Mass fairly regularly this summer. Yesterday, he remained in the sanctuary long enough for me to finish counting the collection plate and join him in a conversation with Richard and Hermione. Looks like Tiger has a new job. If all goes according to what they are telling him (and, after at least two years of bouncing around from job to job, Tiger is being super cautious) he will be the next youth coordinator at a church in northern California. Tiger didn't get the first job that he interviewed for. The guy who got it just had way more degrees and perhaps pull than he did. But, the decision-maker was impressed and somehow, in the small world of Episcopalian youth work, just so happens to know the decision-maker at Tiger's second interview and has offered to use his own good offices on ( Read more... )

Tiger has a couple of job interviews coming up soon and he has sent a mass e-mail to his peep to pray that he get these jobs. They both involve a high degree of supervisory authority over Episcopalian youth activities. And, both would involve his moving to the other side of the continent.

Sumner came up with some pretty sage advice concerning Tiger. He says, I needn't worry that he is somehow my 'last best chance' at having a boyfriend. He thinks I have lots of time before I have to worry about getting too old and that there are plenty of people out there who are better suited for me. He seems to think I'm doing all right. I left the nursing home just in time to make it back to Intersection, feeling a little abashed at having had my fill of football without Jesus. I came out of the subway shed with a little bit of time on my hands and bought a cup of coffee.
