Happy Birthday US and A!

Did some wifi housekeeping the other night. Been having interference problems with ye ol cordless phone. (I hate channel 1) Strange thing was, it would only jam the network during ringing, but not during a call. Neighbors were on channels 6 and 11, but neighbor 11 was weak enough to safely override on 10. Of course, I could have just bought a new set of cordless phones, but I really don't want to throw more money down the POTS hole.

The C.A.R.S. program (aka "Cash for Clunkers") will be up and running around the 23rd. Kelley Blue Book has a handy tool for deciding between normal trade in or C.A.R.S. trade-in (the car must be crushed). Ford, GM, and Toyota have tools to determine which of their cars qualify for the $4500 or the $3500 credit.

A week ago I had a mascot gig at the GA Dome. It was an inflatable soccer player... looked really weird. Quite an interesting experience performing an inflatable character. The inflated suit had a lot of room, it was really weird being able to look down and see the interior... Whereas furred suits generally keep your gaze fixed to the outside world. Got paid a net $90 for effectively two hours of suiting.

Last but not least, AOL has shut down Compuserve Classic. Its been about a decade since I last knew someone using CS classic. CS 2000 (AOL network) is still operating, proving service to Netscape ISP and Wal-Mart Connect.

gadgetry, geeky, money, holidays, cars, mascotting
