My review of the 2010 Nebula-nominated novella The Alchemist by Paolo Bacigalupi can be found on this page at Sacramento Book Review or at San Francisco Book Review. Put simply, it is really good.

This novella is paired with Tobias Buckell’s The Executioness, as both are set in the same fantasy world created jointly by the two authors. My review of Buckell’s novella is forthcoming at SBR.
