General Update...

I feel like I haven't updated in a while or talked to a lot of people stateside so here is as promised, a general update.

-First off happy birthday to everyone who recently had a birthday, pat-o, brianamos, murph. Sorry I didn't find the time to say it directly but I've been busy on some things and work an akward shift (I'm too good at convincing myself with lame ass excuses). I really do apoligize ^^;;

-So I'm pcs-ing in January (permanent change of station) from Kadena Air Force Base,Japan to Creech Air Force Base, Nevada. I will be taking leave in route for the middle of January to the middle of February. I know people will be at school at this time, but I'd like to have a chance to chillax with you guys when time will permit. I will also be changing Aircrafts from the mighty F-15 to the unknown predator which is an UAV (unmanned Ariel vehicle) which is kinda neat. I'll have to learn a brand new aircraft, but I hear you do nothing at all/easy work and I will get my ticket to the desert, possibly 1-2 a year. Speaking of the mighty F-15...

ALL NON-MISSION-ESSENTIAL F-15 AIRCRAFTS HAVE BEEN GROUNDED UNTIL MID FEB. OR UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. It's an unbelievable story but apparently some guard bird fell apart in the sky, when I say fell apart I mean the bulkhead aft of the cockpit literally seperated from the jet, leaving the cockpit falling to the ground and the rest of the jet flying 20 or so ft. and then crashing. They will have to inspect EVERY F-15 aircraft in our fleet to try to solve this problem, which honestly I don't see a solution.

**WARNING TECHNICAL MECHANIC MUMBO JUMBO WILL FOLLOW* So that specific bulkhead is pressed between another panel full of avionics/electrical equipment and a fuel tank that is pushed up against it, making it nearly impossible to inspect. So the problem was that bulkhead was coroded or cracked, and fell apart from the pressure from the flight. Engineers are trying to figure out a way to inspect it without having to rip every bay 15 (avionics/e&e) crap out which takes about 3-4 shifts to do (I've never seen it done but its a lot of work, that might be just removing it or possibly removal and installation) or somehow making the MAIN fuel tank that is pressed up against the bulkhead smaller. Until then there will not be any mission capable flight being done. That is huge, the Air force's "Air Superiority" is hugely effected by this. Granted we have other acft but the F-15 IS THE MIGHTEST OF THEM ALL. Again, I'm a little biased but that is a huge hit.

So thats about it. I have gotten better about alcohol conspumption, down to once a weekend. I would like to be tobacco free by the time I leave this island, since it started here and I'd like to leave it here. I like that meme thats going around w/ the questions, but I really don't feel like posting it. I need to buy long sleeve shirts that aren't button downs and some hoodies because it's getting cold here, and I'll be in Jersey come Jan. which it will be FREEZING. That is about it, Everyone take it easy and enjoy the holidays coming up. I'm having thanksgiving at my friend from works house so that might turn out nice. If I can't get christmas and new years off, I'd like to go w/ new years because its more of a drinking holiday and less of a family oriented thing. I'll probably do dinner at the same friends house for christmas so I won't be alone or anything like that. Later!
