It is bird drama central at my place at the moment. Moonwana the Mighty Hunter caught a pigeon and brought it inside - which I do not like him doing - I'm sorry to say I have no mercy for introduced birds, but I just don't like feathers all over the house. So I herded the growling animal out the door, bird in jaws, and locked him out. Then I noticed 2 magpies sitting on our back fence. Then 3. Then 4. Two of them were young ones with fluffy chests. Maybe downy is the right word. I was worried for Catface in case we had accidentally woken up into Hitchcock's The Birds and these maggies were out for revenge. But no. I think they are just out to teach the little boofers to fly. Very cute. But very pointy beaks they have and I'm not going out the back while one of the big ones is sitting on the railing on our back verandah.
