"Thank you for your interest in Funksters Dance Company. You put a lot of talent and heart into your audition last Sunday, but unfortunately we were not able to offer you a spot on this year's team. We encourage you to keep on dancing and would love to see you at our company classes as well as the classes and workshops taught by our company members."
In other words, I didn’t make it. There are a slew of emotions that are running through me right now. I’m relieved that I finally found out. I’m pretty damn bummed that I didn’t make it. I was really hoping that I did. I really wanted to be on this team. As they say, I guess it wasn’t meant to be. Maybe I didn’t try hard enough? Nahh. All my sentences are very disorganized, as with my mind right now. But overall, I'M GOOOOOOD.
I’m not going to sit here and wallow in sorrow. Life is too awesome to let something like this take me down. The level of talent at the auditions was just amazing and they had to pick the best people for the group. If anything this should motivate me more to work even harder and prove to them that I’m more than capable of being on their dance team. Plus I did my best, so there's no regret when I look back. I gave it my all and that's all I ask for from myself. I’m just thankful to have some experience and get my feet wet.
It's funny because people expect me to do good since I've been dancing for so long. But in reality, learning choreography at a high level is still a learning experience for me. I still need to refine my skills and I'm most definitely not done yet. It’s good to have this kind of knowledge under my belt now. I’m still new to the game, even though I’ve been playing for 7 years. This was my first time too, so I can’t expect everything to go my way all at once. I had fun doing it. And I'm not stopping now. This crazy train ride just took off.
So to any of the dancers that by some amazing grace are reading this and did audition and make it, congrats. You guys are legit. You all deserve it. And don't worry about me. I'll see you guys next year.
