So updating my life...
Tina's wedding was beautiful! If you want to see pictures click

My birthday was off the chain! Amber and Myra threw me and Stephen a kick-ass birthday party at Amber's new house. Marcus, Nicole, Seanda, Amber, Myra, Chris, Ken, and Rashida came on out and participated in a night of drinking games with confederate flag cards and little people on top of drinks, being locked in the bathroom and getting humped on the floor, strawberry cake (yum yum) with a 24 on top and chinese food from August Moon, and my fabulous gift of Uncle Ben's rice pudding mix!! I promise to upload the pictures soon!
Then it was off to Durham to spend a night and day with Elby (Panera and house-looking in Cary Park) and then I drove home. I screamed when I crossed the border into Maryland! It was so goooooooooood to be home! Thursday I went to DC with Steph and AJ and we met up with Anu and then Neil and Amita. Friday I had dinner with my Mama at Timothy Dean. After that, me and my homies rendevous-d at Club One for Happy Hour. Carol got a new job and I had a birthday and and a graduation so it was off the essence. I got to see all my peoples from RPCS, Gilman, and Baltimore. Then Darrell, Derek, Valene, Tara, and I hit up the late-night chicken box place (where they were out of chicken) and then went to Derek's spot and had an impromptu dinner party/sleepover. Sabrina-sandwich on the floor ALL NIGHT LONG!!! :O When we got up, Derek made breakfast and then we all bounced.
Saturday evening was my Devils' Birthday Party at Strike Bethesda (sooooo much fun) with Steph, Anu, Swati, Wallace, Christine, Julie, and Darrell. Then we went to the Barking Dog in "downtown" Bethesda and danced, danced, danced until they turned on the lights. Sunday I went to church with my mama and then we ate sandwiches at her job and then Valene and I went to Dickey's for Sunday dinner. I played Uno for shots and then Valene and I drove across town to Tara's for the pre-party. Hella people were there and then everyone bounced to go to the Red Maple to club. Red Maple was trying to charge $30 to get in, so we rode by Club One, but it was late and it was too damn hood for THIS Southern/Northern BAP so we rode back by the Red Maple for the let-out and macked a little on the sidewalk.
Monday I went to my grandparents house for a cook-in and then to Brandon's for a cook-out. Tuesday my mother involved me in her "flat tire" drama and so I was without a car for a day. But I got to run about 4 miles and it felt so damn good to be in tennis shoes and a sports bra (or two) again! I was missing that exercise. Tuesday night Dizzy, Steve, Dwayne, Aja, Tara, Shayla and I were out like it was summer 2004. Wednesday I saw my gp's again and then did step aerobics, dinner, and a movie with Valene and Carol. Tara came along for the dinner.
Today I went to my little nephew/cousin's kindergarten graduation in Millersville, MD. Can I tell you how cute it is to see about 35 5-year-olds display the knowledge that they had gained over the past year? So absolutely adorable. Like for real. He got a diploma and everything. Class of 2017, here they come!
So that's my life thus far. Matthew came home tonight so I am excited. Tomorrow the J-T Trio is going out to dinner and then hopefully I'll get to see some more peeps before I bounce out of town to NC for the summer on Saturday.
So how do you let a friend know when you think she is making a HUGE mistake? Because maybe you may be wrong and do not have the full story and cannot see into the private things they say to one another when no one is listening and maybe... :/ I am not so sure. I can talk about it for HOURS with everyone else, except her. Life is complex sometimes. I want to help, but I don't want to meddle. I want the best for her, but I am not completely sure that she wants the same "best" that I want. I wonder when she is going to get the chance to grow up and really realize her true potential as an fully functioning adult, ie not in this relationship at this time for these reasons. What this really makes me think about it, how good of a friend am I really...
