I had a flash of muse during my lunch break and wrote this poem. The original first word was Millions but Kimberly suggested a non quantifiable term might work better with the theme so I pondered it a bit and went with immeasurable. I'm not sure I'm sold on it either and might tweek it in the future. Work in progess, comments welcome and all that. :)
(Edit Innumerable is a much better fit)
"I close my eyes"
Innumerable clocks and watches
Ticking softly roar across the globe
Seconds
Minutes
Hours
Days
Weeks
Months
Years
Decades…
Flowing ever faster
Branching ever wider
Moments pierced with sharpened face hands
Open wounds of possibilities
Scabbing over with memories
Sundials in Atlantis know a secret
Ozymandias winks at Shrodenger while winding a turnip watch
Einstein plays the violin while sailing upriver
The trip is taking forever
