Obama bashing - something I don't get

Aug 06, 2007 06:57

A guy says that he would enter talks with people who say their our enemies, feeling that engagement was more important than pointless rhetoric back and forth.

He then says that if he knew that known terrorists were in another country, and that country refused to act on them at all, he would take the initiative to attack them.

Why are these two positions considered to a reason to bash Obama on?  I'm honestly not getting it.  If we learned the exact spot of where a major al Qaeda base was, told the President of Pakistan, and they said "Well, uh, whatever", sure - we'd probably go ahead and bomb it anyway in order to get the people hurting us.

In fact, isn't that *exactly* what we wound up doing with Afghanistan?  They had bin Laden, we said give them up, Taliban told us to screw ourselves, so we invaded.  Why when it's about Pakistan, the situation is suddenly "Oh, noes - Obama's a war monger!"
