Some of us have been warning all along that Democrats are like this. For our trouble we got laughed at for our tinfoil hats and black helicopters. The scary thing is that the author, one Jeremy Zilber, now admits that it's true, and thinks these are points in favor of Democrats.
The rest of us realize that the last thing we want is a government that takes on the role of a family member. Brothers are good. (Mine are, at least.) But George Orwell reminded us that Big Brother is a totalitarian thug. Mommies are wonderful. But the nanny state makes us wake up screaming. Fathers are good. The paternalistic state is the enemy of civil liberties.
