(no subject)
Day 9: I've now done the first coat on the kitchen/hallway ceiling (almost white, so quite conservative by my standards) - this has helped to lessen the "living in a cave" feeling of having the same brown colour on walls and ceiling. I've also done the first coat on the WC walls (a rather garish shade of orange) - unfortunately the paint was quite watery, so it felt as if I was covering the walls in tomato soup. Luckily I've learnt from experience, and didn't taste the paint for comparison purposes.
Still to do:
Second coat on kitchen/hallway ceiling and WC walls.
Kitchen/hallway walls.
Skirting in bedroom/hallway/kitchen/WC.
Ceiling in bedroom (not too urgent, because it's already painted in white).
Also the bedroom curtains, but I'll be nice and wait until my neighbours are out before I resume drilling.
And while I'm thinking about it, I should belatedly give credit to elvum and terpsichore1980 for actually kicking me into action, and suggesting the whole "take a week off work" plan.
