Celebrity crushes. I don't get them, that's how I feel about that. No, really. I mean... yeah. They're just people. You're never really going to meet them. Even if you did? They usually aren't all they're cracked up to be. They just think they are. I've run into that more then once. Except for, like, Tony Stark. Anyway.
I could bitch and moan and call people who have them silly fools, and acknowledge it's just for fun, but also that some people are just crazy about it. I could go on and on and on about how fucking stupid it makes some people seem, you know? But then how other people are kinda cute not too bad about it. But that over all it seems a silly thing to have, right? What's the point, really?
But, I won't. Whatever. As if you haven't heard all that before.
However. Recently? I may have been proved wrong on this celebrity crush thing. I mean... never thought I'd be one for a huge celebrity crush or anything, but.
There's this guy.
Tony Stark is really cool. And hot. But I don't act like a babbling idiot around him and, despite what my boyfriend says, I don't flirt with him. It is NOT a crush.
I'm watching Rescue Me right now. You know, Denis Leary as a firefighter? His character's name is Tommy. The show holds a certain fascination for me. Fire and all. It's a dangerous job for people who aren't me... though, it'd be dangerous in its own ways for me too. That could be a whole other post. Anyway... Plus it's fucking funny as all hell. The show, I mean. The writing and the characters and stuff.
Anyway, so Leary is a little bit older and he kinda Older Guy Hot in his own way and blond to top it all off. But the show is awesome and he's awesome in it AND he plays the character really awesome. (Also watched some of his stand up comedy and, really? Tommy = Denis in a fireman's hat.) It's definitely not his looks that I dig, it's totally the personality of Denis Leary. The guy's an asshole, blunt, forward, and doesn't give a fuck what anyone else thinks. Plus, you know, created/writes for/produces the show, all that respectable stuff.
Now, if I did do the celebrity crush thing? Denis Leary would totally be it.
Also? In one episode? Tommy (Denis' character) named his dog... Asshole. Fuck, I died laughing.
I would almost get a dog if I could name it Asshole.
