I seem to have done my usual trick of posting lines from umpteen WIPs, and then writing something that isn't any of them. When
public_call opened their prompts to everyone, I spotted a prompt for Polly rescuing Ben and couldn't resist writing it.
Polly to the Rescue (2932 words) by

Fandom:
Doctor Who (1963)Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Polly Wright, Ben Jackson (Doctor Who), Second Doctor
Summary:
Polly investigates a factory, and makes some interesting discoveries.
(Also available at Teaspoon) On a different topic: a few memes back one of the characters I picked was
Loveday Brooke, Lady Detective (I always think that title deserves an exclamation mark at the end). The other day I discovered by chance that one of her adventures was dramatised for the radio, and is available on iPlayer for the next few weeks:
The Redhill Sisterhood.
In some respects, I found the adaptation improved on the original story. In the original, Loveday describes various clues she spotted, but since the narration never so much as mentions them, the reader has to take her word for it. The radio version does make more of an effort to plant them.
