YAY!
The talentless hack was the first to go last night! So, although she made it to the top three, she did not make the final two...there is some justice in the world.
The top two were Casey Rivers and Chris Young:
These were the two that I had chosen the first night to be the top two...am I good or what? *laugh*
They had a number where they brought back all of the finalists to sing "Hicktown" with Jason Aldean (great song...great artist) and it was fantastic except for the talentless hack's part which killed the whole thing. It was nice to see Shy back again in his barefeet and Melanie back again, proving she was the only truly awesome female contestant this year. It was the worst day ever when it came down to her and the talentless hack and Melanie was sent home.
Then Chris and Casey both sang again...Chris sang "Forever and Ever, Amen"...one of my all-time favorite songs and Casey sang...uh...something...shit, wish LJ had been working last night so that I could have this more coherent, but now it's almost 24 hours later and I just can't remember, but it was good. :) They also had Chris and Casey sing "I like it...I love it..." by Tim McGraw and did a great job.
Then came the big moment...I called shawcrossedlove because she asked me to and it turned out she was watching too (for the first time...and she doesn't like country music) and she said Chris did well. My television (for some reason) was on a three second delay from hers, so Cowboy Troy said, "And the new Nashville Star is..." and a long silence interupted by Jeannie's gasp and I thought "oh shit," but then he said the two words I'd been waiting to hear:
CHRIS YOUNG!
I jumped around the house hollaring and screaming...I was so flippin' excited!!! :D The gods were cruel, but in the end they came through! :D
