I wouldn't be surprised in the least. After all no one wants to have to look at a bunch of queers now, do they? This is about civil rights-not boy lovers and girl lovers.
I listen to a lot of OutQ on Sirius radio -- it's the GLBT talk station, and naturally they've been talking about this movie, and I'm interested in seeing it. I'm wondering why it's not getting a whole lot of press/publicity, though. I haven't seen a single trailer for it, or heard it mentioned outside of OutQ. Apparently, that was an intentional ploy; the director wants to go the opposite approach of "Brokeback Mountain," and let it be judged on its own merits rather than raise a lot of controversy about it being a "gay" film. But that seems a little self-defeating, to me. Who's going to go see a movie that they've never heard of and know nothing about?
Maybe it'll just be so good that word-of-mouth will keep it in theaters. We'll see.
Having it come out in October would've been nice, though.
