Happy New Year!

Dec 31, 2008 17:18

I've just found out a couple of cool things online that are giving me a little extra incentive to celebrate tonight.

First, Frozen Blood has been mentioned on FearZone's list of Favourite Fears of 2008:

FAVORITE FEARSOME MOMENT (Any Medium)

Joel A. Sutherland literally took my breath away with an incident in the opening chapter of his freshman novel FROZEN BLOOD.

Second, the votes are in on the Choate Road Spotlight Scribe of the Year award, and I was surprised to find that I was victorious. It was a close call, though, with only six votes separating myself from the runner-up. So, what do I win? I swear I'm not making this up: a cheque for $6.36 American, an upcoming episode of their Blog Talk Radio show devoted to yours truly, a copy of their "Funbook", KNOCK KNOCK, WHO'S THERE? DEATH! (I already have a copy, and it's awesome -- Choaties, if you're reading this, feel free to send it on to someone else to enjoy), a pizza (!), and a year's subscription to Necrotic Tissue! 2008 will go down in my books as the year that Christmas came twice. My winning story, "Timberbeasts", is still available to read for free but with a new Spotlight Scribe lined up for January, it might not be there for long. So forget about your New Year's Eve plans and read it instead!

I hope everyone out there has a great night with friends and family (if you decide to stick to your plans). I'm looking forward to a tall, cool glass of Spumante Bambino (nothing but the best for me). Happy New Year!
