me and dh had a discussion yesterday nite, even though he's been working like a bull for the past weeks. we decided to let Li go home on the 3th of July, provided i can get hold of an air ticket on that day. dh suggested that a break of 7 weeks for her but we'll have to discuss it further with her tomorrow and see if she's ok with it. Li has been getting more and more absent-minded these days and we can see that her heart is not here anymore. since this is so, might as well let her go home sooner than later. we're both more or less prepared that she might not come back after all. dh had a feeling that this will be a one-way ticket scenario but i'll book a return ticket just to keep her options open. it was a conclusive meeting to say the least:-
Plan A - if Li comes back, we continue the current contract till Dec 04 and then renew it for 1 year till Dec 05. E to start childcare at start of Jan 06. and it's WOHM for me again.
Plan B - if Li dun wish to come back, we'll consider getting another maid, this time, a fillipino. i will monitor the new maid for a few months and look for a new job only after things are settled down.
Plan C - if this new maid, for some reason, dun meet our expectations, then it's SAHM for me, finally....
it feels good to be able to sit down together with dh and nail down some plans. i'll take whatever happens in my stride, afterall, what's the point of forcing Li to commit against her wishes. if she really wants to stay home, i'll understand. goodness, she's been away from home for 7 years! who wouldn't be homesick by now?
back to E, i'll letting her go diaperless for half a day, starting tomorrow. she displayed some signs of readiness; urination every 2-3 hrs, predictable motion times, readiness to sit on the potty and ability to say 'sh sh' and 'ng ng' at times. we'll just try her for a few days and see how she fares.
ever since i stopped working, she's able to sleep longer and later into the morning, and only waking at around 10am -10.30am. which explains why her face looks more cherubic these days. obviously she enjoys having mummy around all day and has become less attention-seeking and whiny to certain extent. she looking real chilled out here ya.....sure know how to enjoy life! ;D
