Random thought...historians may laugh

I am reading a book inherited from my Grandmother and it talks about how Chinese found it strange that foreigners wrote left to right and signed their first name then their last name.
I wondered if it was at all possible that we actually learned the latter from them.
So consider, if you right right to left and your name is Bruce Lee, wouldn't that come out "Bruce Lee" (last name written "first" then first name written "second")?
Just a funny thought, I am not sure why we write differently honestly.
I will tell you as a person with a last name that could also be first (like "Bruce Lee") I am sensitive to this though=)
I can't tell you the number of times I've been called "Lee" and wanted to call them "Smith":P
Peace,
Joe
