Hello!
Seeing as there is nothing much to do today, I am going to float some ideas i'd been thinking about doing on here.
First one is Photos Revisted. This will be revisiting photos I took in my year of being a 'photographer'.
First off is this one:
I was very excited about this event. It was at G-A-Y nightclub and popstars tend to dress up for the gays, I don't know why, its a bit like preparing a dish of fois gras and pig's brain jus for a vegetarian. Anyway Jennifer Ellison was the popstar in question. She was launching her underwhelming pop career with a cover of Baby I Don't Care. It was quite good actually. When I got to G-A-Y (travelling against the flow of drunken and vomiting people pouring out of London) I discovered that not only was I going to witness one of the first 'live' performances of Jellison but she was being backed up by a stellar cast of chart topping gods. Yes thats right, the Fastfood Rockers and DJ Sammy!
Trying to stay calm, but realising this really was on a par with The Ramones at CBGBs and would be looked back upon as the moment the book of music was torn up, I got to work.
DJ Sammy played a rousing set of bizarre club anthems and although he was a balding, ugly midget, he really got the crowd going.
Jennifer Ellison played one song.
Sandwiched between was The Fastfood Rockers. Never have I seen such passion. They performed with devotion and urgency reminiscent of a young Trent Reznor and left the gays with their jaws on the floor.
While all this was going on I forgot I had a camera with me and a job to do so I only got one or two shots of them. Thankfully the picture above was used in the Daily Sport the next day so all was not lost. I like to think it sums up everything The Fastfood Rockers stood for. RIP.
I didn't realise my memory was that good!
