In which I start a computing adventure
So my most recent adventure (that scarily had to coincide with the great condo selling buying adventure of 2012/2013) was getting a new computer before my old one dies. It's been in bad shape, especially since it's total upset a few months ago when I had to disable all many of the services and such running to even be able to get in without using safe mode. It still works but not reliably and can freeze for 20-30 minutes at a time. Well, after long hours of thought and consideration I did it. I got a macbook pro this past Saturday!! I've always tried to keep up to speed on mac stuff even though I was firmly in the windows camp. I used the macs when I was at school a few years ago and the pc at home to be sure that I could do all I needed to be able to do on each different system. I also try to keep up with helping out with my folks iMac so I'm not a novice just very inexperienced!!! :)
And the adventure has begun. So far it's going well and I've been doing a little bit at a time, learning how to use it, how I want to use it and slowly setting up hardware and software as well as slowly figuring out what I will still need to get.
Weirdest issue right now is not being able to figure out why my old pc won't join the new network I've made with time capsule.... Either I'll figure it out or I won't but I'm trying to not stress out too much over it. I might be asking for mac hardware/software advice and recommendations over time. Aww heck - if you have any right now, I'll keep them in mind :). Hope all is well with you!!
