It has come to my attention that a few more people actually read this thing than I initially thought. Seems that the fact that I hardly update this sucker, without the slightest hint of regularity is well known. So, for that reason I am here again to cough up some sort of new material.
Heeerre we go!
I've been spending the last eh...half hour or so trying to figure out a way to copy this freakin' Dave Matthews Band cd. Krrystal (no, that's not a typo), ;) ;) said it couldn't be done. That of course gets the following response from me: "HA! Bet I can copy this bitch!"
Hmm....seems they (the record companies)are a bit more resourceful than I thought. Oh, don't worry, it IS still possible. It's just a bit more work and a LOT more time consuming than I am willing to go thru. I did get at least the one song I like off of it. ("American Baby") What it looks like they did was to make the CD unplayable in a PC unless the software automatically downloads a license to play the tracks. Then, and this is fucked up in my opinion, the tracks it DOES play, are WMA files that play in 128kbps. For those of you not up on the audio mumbo-jumbo, that's a pretty lame ass compression rate. It's not TRUE CD quality. So I'm sitting here going: WTF?!?!?!? That's pretty lame!
The regular audio ripping software I tried seemed to work, but when I listened to the songs, they all skipped constantly. Every one! (BASTARDS!!!) So....they think they can outsmart me huh? Shhhit!
LoL! So I tried to use WINAMP to rip the track....No good. Alright, last resort: record the audio live as it's being played! I have software to do this. BAM! Done! :D
Anyways, I got the damn song I wanted so there! But yeah, they're really trying to fight this illegal copying stuff. But what if I had purchased this CD? What, I can't make myself a spare copy for my own personal use? BULL SHIT!
Oh well. That's just the way it is I guess. I just makes me wonder how they fit the regular CD audio data onto the disc, AND the WMA files for PC usage. It must be a short CD in total playing time to be able to fit that. . .
Nice! I was going to find out how long the CD was with winamp, but it just caused it to crash.
WTF?!?! Holy fuck, this thing has locked up my winamp! GRRR!!!!
What part of END PROCESS do you NOT understand?!?!?
...
*whew* Ok. We're good now. It finally ended. Let's try this again!
...
Um...nope, it's still fucking running in memory somewhere. This is crazy! Stupid fucking RCA records! You're fucking up my PC!!
DAMNIT!!!!!
>:O >:O >:O >:O
Ok, now how's this for pissing me off: Now Winamp will not load. AND the fucking CD is stuck in the drive, cuz it won't eject!! Son of a bitch! I'm gunna kick Dave Matthews ass in a minute here!!
LOL!!!
Ok, I'm though with this shit. I have to now reboot my damn PC all cuz of this stupid ass CD!! GRRRR!
Oh well. I'm outta here anyway.
