Computer Madness
Hey y'all. So I'm sending this message out from my new computer, which I had to buy today when my old computer decided to bite the dust temporarily. It was working fine up until this morning, when I turned it on (or tried to) after waking up. The power came on fine, but the screen stayed black. This happened to me before when I had my desktop - easy enough to just send the monitor in and get a replacement. But in this case, it was my laptop, so it kinda sucks. I bought the computer at Costco, and fortunately Costco extends the manufacturer's warranty on all the electronics they sell to two years. However, in sending the laptop in for service - I've got to be without my computer for TWO weeks. With my horrible technology addiction, and the fact that I'm in school and have assignements due that MUST be word processed - I decided that I needed to find a better solution. That solution came in the form of this:
That's the Acer Aspire one 8.9" notebook for those of you who are like "WTF"? It was $399 at Best Buy, which is about the same as I would've paid had I decided to fix my computer by other means. And this way, I now have an extra, teeny tiny laptop to take with me instead of lugging around my 17" notebook all the time. I chose the white one, which I think looks really nice - and while the keyboard is TINY, I'm getting used to it. Now I can send my older computer off to be fixed and not have to worry about being without my left lung for two weeks. The only thing that really sucks is that I have assignements stored on my old computer that I have to hand in next week - which means that I'm going to have to start over. Couple that with work, and moving - and I don't have a ton of free time!
Oh well...I hope everybody had a great weekend! I'm so glad that Sean Penn won the Oscar for best actor this year!!
