Update to the "Make It Stop!!!" award contenders:
Detroit - The Lions had a 17-3 lead going into the fourth quarter, and they absolutely fell apart, including a Kitna fumble and later, a Kitna interception that helped the Vikings go on to win 26-17. I might have been too generous giving them two wins this year.
Tennessee - Yikes! I about had a heart attack when I looked at the score and saw the Titans leading 10-0 at the half over the Colts. I was worried Haynesworth had somehow snuck in and danced on Manning's head. Fortunately, I was wrong. Manning was ok. In fact, he did what he always does, throwing outstandingly (20 for 31 with two TDs) to barely lift his team to a 14-13 victory. Good effort by the Titans... just wasn't enough.
Oakland - Moss catches 100th career TD, but not even that was enough to beat the slightly less pathetic 49ers.
Tampa Bay - New Orleans looks like the team of destiny this year, especially at home. The Bucs played a good close game, but Reggie Bush's punt 65-yard punt return TD was the straw that broke the camel's back. The fans at the Superdome made sure that Tampa would have no chance at scoring again.

Ok, I have a solution to the NFL's overtime dealy. I've always been a fan of the NCAA's method of overtime where each team get's equal posessions. That's fair. However, there are a lot of people in the industry who think that's a bad idea for the NFL because you subject the players to more chances of injury. For one, I find that to be ridiculous. Football is these guys' life. It's their job. They train extensively to play in this sport. I think they can hold their own. Preseason games put them at a much greater risk for injury, and those games don't even count for anything. And if you feel that way about, why don't you just get rid of overtime all together and go back to having tie games? I would be fine with that because that is fair. I get the feeling other fans would not apreciate that though, so here's my compromise, and it only changes one aspect of the overtime rule:
No field goals. I think that makes the game much more exciting for the fans (which is the whole reason we have overtime to begin with), and does a better job of insuring the best team wins.
