Originally uploaded by scribbledes So we had the chaos of a first birthday party on Saturday! It was actually a good time for a ton of folks; looking at the tribe now vs. when I met them all, 15 years ago...our parties are a wee bit different! Little Bit was charming to all and sundry, visited, played and had a good old time. The weird? She wanted to grab the frosting on her cake, but on no account would eat any frosting or cake. Maybe I should have made it out of meatball...
I can't believe she is almost one. At this point last year, I had already been hospitalized once, was on bed rest, my mom had moved up her flight by a week because we were inducing 3 weeks early, and we still only had a middle name. But now, as Andrew says very often, life is totally unimaginable without her. Birthdays mean so much more, because they are hers, and we are celebrating the wonderful girl she has already become in just one short year. If anything, I feel like I am reaching my own personal first mother's day.
Anyway...she has partied, and will soon be a year. Not as into hats as mama, though...:)
