Paint Hiver Guru

Something I noticed on election night while watching TV with Jessica is that I'd become as well versed on recent election information as the newscasters. I'd cut off Tom Brokaw when he started to say that Bush won North Carolina in 2004 by /.../ 12 points or that Florida currently has 27 electoral votes by had only /.../ 25 in 2000. Too much poll sites reading in the past three months. So it's good that's all over with.

Jessica and I spent the most of the day Sunday painting the dining room. We went with a four-color scheme we picked out of one of many catalogs from the paint section. It sure is colorful. Not sure if it's exactly what we were expecting, but it still needs a second layer and the painter's tape is still up and once we get the table and chairs back in, I think it'll look nice. Presto did cause problems when we kept wanting to go on the window sill because birds were landing and taking off from the closed-up awning over the window.

Winter's officially arrived. Enough snow fell and accumulated on the picnic table for me to put together a tiny snowball (a little bigger than a golf ball) and throw at Jessica. I let her prepare though, and got her in the middle of the back. Also temperatures here didn't get above freezing yesterday. That reminds me that I need to call a fuel company about getting oil in the tank in the basement. I think it doesn't have much left.
