Slip the Gap
We're heading down to Missouri for Christmas tomorrow morning. We're going to have to pull off a quick escape. A winter storm is coming into the area early in the morning and by 9 AM there could be 1-2 inches already.
I wanted to take a different route than normal. Usually we head to the southeast towards Madison and down through the middle of Illinois to St. Louis. However, we're going to Hermann first and it's 100 miles shorter and only about 1/2 hour longer to cut down through Iowa and take US and state highways. However, if the snow start early we'll be forced to take the easterly path.
Edit: I just read that parts of Iowa may experience blizzard conditions tomorrow. Ugh; looks like I may have to go through Illinois. I'll check the weather before bed and when I get up in the morning.
