The Life Aquatic... with Anne Lyons
Title only existing as a point of reference. Yesterday, I took an hour
long shower. And since hours truly are the ultimate representation of
where man's time goes, that 1, of me
laying-down-on-the-shower-floor-unable-to-get-up-because-i-felt-like-my-face-was-being-clamped-my-steel-tongs,
portrays my liking of water.
i used to swim every day.
not because i wanted to, because my mom wanted me to be that big kid swimmer who got a scholarship to swim in college.
i was good at breaststroke. i think it ended at that.
it seems like a joke to me sometimes - there are some really good breaststrokers who never measure up in the other subjects on the swim spectrum.
i just wanted to be better at the other strokes.
dave greene used to make fun of me because even in going really fast, i looked funny.
i quit when i was 13, but i can say i was good.
i didn't go out with a bang.
it was more of a plop.
i've watched 6 movies in the past day.
i have tylenol and histinex hc every 4 and 6 hours.
Influenza has made a stop at my home, and kindly closed its wings in tight, streamlined its futile self through banistering blistered fever carpet, and dove right into my mouth, down my throat and found comfort in the solace of Anne Lyons.
I became aware of all the subtle Benny & Joon references people make that I have thoroughly missed out on, like JY's comment zone "humiliated grapes/it's a shame about raisins." Not bad.
I come up with rants in my head on a 72 minute basis, and want to record them so badly, but most times I don't. I really wish I did.
Now I have a set of charcoals I plan to go draw with in the next few minutes. I'll rant more soon. This was a rant, but not a usual rant. I like those.
